#22 GT Rolls over Duke 49-3

Georgia Tech fans are finally seeing signs of what this team can do. Well, atleast half since Dwyer just came back and Nesbitt is out.

Jonathan Dwyer returned to the lineup with a school record 5 touchdowns and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets thumped Duke 49-3. The game was out of hand early when GT put up a monster 42 points in the first half.

Dwyer, returning from a month on the inactive list had a school record 5 touchdowns. He also had 74 yards on 17 carries. The big player was Marcus Wright who had 3 runs for over 30 yards and finsihed with 6 carries for 138 yards and a touchdown. Jones also chipped in 75 for the Yellow Jackets who finished with 316 rushing yards.

The first started quick for GT as they took the ball down the field on the opening drive and it was capped by a 2 yard TD run by Dwyer to make it 7-0. Following a Duke INT, Marcus Wright added an 11 yard touchdown run to make it 14-0. It was 14-3 after one.

The Second quarter saw GT light up the scoreboard with 4 touchdowns. Dwyer got it started after a Cone catch and run to the Duke 1. Dwyer took it in for a 21-3 lead. Duke would then throw another pick and Josh Tarrant made them pay. Tarrant returned the pick 42 yards for the score and a 28-3 lead. Dwyer added two more touchdowns in the quarter to add insult to injury.

The third quarter saw the final plays of the starters as Dwyer capped his day with a nice 17 yard run to setup a 1 yard run to give him the school record for TD's in a game. " I didnt wanna use him that much but he really wanted the ball in the red zone" said Millhimes. Dwyer now has 14 touchdowns on the season.

Derrick Morgan continued his monster season with 2 more sacks and 11 tackles. The LE has 13 sacks on the year. Hopefully, we can hold on to the Junior. The surprise for GT, TJ Barnes the true freshman had a sack for the team and has 7 this year.

Shaw had a nice day for GT as he was 13-15 for 169 yards and no TD's or INT's.

GT outgained Duke 485-183.

Tech goes to 7-3 on the season and will next play the possible undefeated Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Nesbitt will likely miss that game.
