Tech Limps Out Of FSU Without Win And Dwyer

#12 FSU Survives and Knocks Out 2 Key Yellow Jackets

Coach Millhimes stormed out past reporters today furious. It was hard to tell if he was upset over the 45-42 loss to #12 FSU, or the fact that he lost Jonathan Dwyer the All-American for 4 weeks. Not to mention the loss of Demaryious Thomas for the season with a Broken Fibula.

Georgia Tech fell behind early in the game. FSU managed 10 points in the first half thanks to the passing of Manuel who was 17-21 for 310 yards and 3 touchdowns. Down 10-0 in the second, GT made a move. Dwyer took it in from 1 yard out early in the second half to make it 10-7. Jones came right back for FSU with a big 42 yard touchdown run to put the lead up to 17-7. Dwyer answered with his own 40 yard touchdown run to get within 3. FSU then missed a 30 yard field goal which put GT in control. Josh Nesbitt hit Rob Jones for a 7 yard touchdown pass to give GT a 21-17 lead with 8 seconds left and a chance to get the ball abck after the half. Thats where it goes downhill. Reed took the kickoff and went down the right sideline and broke 2 tackles and outran the kicker for a 90 yard kickkoff return for the touchdown.

The Third was a disaster for GT. Jonathan Dwyer went down on the first drive after a 10 yard run. It was later learned he would be out for 4 weeks. Dwyer finished with 21 carries for 122 yards and a touchdown. Manuel stayed in the air in the third with two touchdowns and jumped the lead to 38-21 after three.

Then Nesbitt took over in the air. His best game of his career without a doubt. He hit Jones again for a 17 yard touchdown pass to start the 4th. After a three and out for FSU, GT went back down the field and managed to score on 5 yard touchdown run by Nesbit to cut the lead to 38-35 with 2:17 left. FSU struck again when Thomas took a run up the gut for a 23 yard touchdown run to seal it. Backup Larry Cox did hit teh endzone late in the 4th for GT but it was to little to late. On that fianl drive for GT, Nesbitt went up top to Thomas who came down very hard which later turned out to be a Broken Fibula. Thats 3 losses for GT!
