Georgia Tech Loses Heart Breaker to #10 NC 20-14

GT Celebrates after making 20-14 with 2:00 minutes left

Atlanta GA- #21 georgia Tech is likely waking up tommorow morning to find themselves out of the Top 25. Thats because of back to back losses and a game with NC in which they were never in until the 4th.

#10 NC lead most of the game 17-0 before Georgia Tech managed to core a few late minute touchdowns and blow a comeback when Josh Nesbitt fumbled the football with 56 seconds left at the NC 40.

Backup QB Mike Paulus of NC had 186 yards passing and a touchdown to torch the GT secondary. At times, the GT cornerbacks looked confused.

However, GT had plenty of chances to take control of this game early but failed on all. They included a missed 28 yard field goal, an interception thrown by Nesbitt at the NC 27 yard line, and a fumble with 56 seconds left.

GT trailed 17-0 going into the 4th before they kicked into passing mode. Nesbitt had a season high 103 yards passing.90 in the 4th. GT scored early in the 4th on a Jonathan Dwyer 1 yard touchdown run to make it 17-7. NC would hit another field gaol before GT would again give it to Dwyer for a 4 yard touchdown to cut the lead to 6 with 2 minutes left.

NC was held and kicked back to GT with 1:19 on the clock. After a dropped pass by Peeples that would have been atleast a 30 yard catch, Nesbitt found Roy Jones for a nice 28 yard catch and run to the GT 47 Yard line. Nesbitt followed with a flexbone option keeper that saw him take off and attempt to get out bounds by leaping a defender. That didnt happend. Nesbit coughed up the ball with 56 seconds left and no timeouts left to lose the game.

GT is off next week before traveling to Florida St.
